Clean Water PROJECTS
Water Filters
In the state of Minas Gerais, many communities’ sources of drinking water have been contaminated by heavy metal residues as a result of industrial mining. Full Belly Brasil is working to provide these communities with sustainable water filters. Not only will these communities have access to safe drinking water, but also fewer plastic bottles will end up in our oceans and landfills every year. We are also working to provide communities with contaminate free water they can use to grow their own crops.
Working with the Indigenous
Full Belly Brasil is working with the indigenous village of Pataxó Hã-hã-hãe in Minas Gerais to determine how to best implement a Clean Water Project in their community. The village’s water supply was contaminated when a dam holding mining residue broke in 2015, and their water continues to be contaminated to this day.
